Fryar's Kangaroo Island Free Range Eggs

Egg Carton Cover

Kangaroo Island's reputation as a clean, healthy environment is well known. Tom & Fiona Fryar's Free Range Poultry Farm covers an area of 4,000 acres & is situated near the township of Kingscote on Kangaroo Island. The Fryar family run 50,000 hens on the farm, producing approx 12,000 doz eggs per week & supplying more than 100 outlets across Kangaroo Island, Adelaide, Melbourne & Sydney.

Mobile poultry sheds are used on Fryar's free range farm, each shed provides 1,000 hens with shelter, nesting boxes & timber rails for roosting. The sheds are designed to allow the birds access in & out as they please. Laying hens on the farm are never locked in sheds. The mobile sheds are moved across the paddock which gives the hens' continuous access to fresh pasture. The hens are also fed a mixture of grains which are grown, crushed & mixed on the farm.

Beak trimming is definitely not allowed on Fryar's free range farm, all hens are full beaked which enables them to peck & scratch at seeds, insects, grubs etc as nature intended.
